On Thursday, 10 February 2022, in the evening at 19:27, in Panevėžys, on Margių street, at the junction with Jaunimo street, a Hyundai Tucson hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 44-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Hyundai (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene.
