On Friday, 11 February 2022, in the afternoon at 13:47, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 18.80), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Honda CR-V and a BMW. Two people were injured — the 39-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 41-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Honda (40 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
