On Monday, 14 February 2022, in the afternoon at 14:19, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 40.60), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Yaris and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. One person died — a 64-year-old passenger of the Toyota (was not wearing a seatbelt). Three people were injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Toyota (hospitalized), a 16-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized) and a 43-year-old passenger of the Toyota (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Toyota (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
