On Tuesday, 15 March 2022, in the evening at 17:11, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 79), an Opel Vectra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Opel (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.39‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
