On Sunday, 20 March 2022, at night at 3:15, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Babriškės–Varėna–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 1.50), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.49‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
