On Sunday, 10 April 2022, at night at 4:15, in Šilalės district municipality, Brokštėnų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 230.40), a BMW 335 i ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW (17 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
