On Monday, 11 April 2022, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with Gedimino street, an Opel Meriva - A hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 80-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Opel (15 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
