On Tuesday, 17 May 2022, in the afternoon at 11:52, in Pasvalio district municipality, Brenčių village, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 52), a BMW 730 d registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 87-year-old driver of the BMW (70 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
