On Thursday, 16 June 2022, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Marijampolės municipality, on Vasaros street near No. 90, a BMW X3 3.0D registered in Ukraine hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 37-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the BMW (42 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
