On Wednesday, 3 August 2022, in the afternoon at 15:33, in Vilnius, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Pelesos street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Berlingo and a bicycle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Citroen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
