On Saturday, 1 October 2022, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Marijampolės municipality, Mokolų village, on Europos street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a car, a Nissan Note registered in Ukraine, an Opel and a BMW. Three people were injured — a 33-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized), a 59-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of a car (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
