On Monday, 14 November 2022, in the evening at 17:17, in Jonavos district municipality, Jonalaukio village, on the Jonava–Žasliai–Kalniniai Mijaugonys national road (kilometre 2), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Golf. Three people were injured — the 28-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized), a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 23-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Passat (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (9 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
