On Tuesday, 22 November 2022, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 49.60), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
