On Friday, 20 January 2023, in the morning at around 5:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 22), a Peugeot 307 registered in Belarus ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Peugeot (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
