On Tuesday, 23 May 2023, in the evening at 20:20, in Kretingos district municipality, on Laivių street near No. 25, an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Opel (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.02‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
