On Monday, 19 June 2023, in the evening at 17:22, in Telšių district municipality, Pamavio village, on the Telšiai–Varniai–Laukuva national road (kilometre 17.50), a Volkswagen Transporter ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (3.08‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
