On Saturday, 9 November 2019, in the afternoon at 13:34, in Telšių district municipality, Vembūtų village, on the Telšiai–Varniai–Laukuva national road (kilometre 15.21), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A3 and a Toyota Corolla Verso. Two people were injured — the 61-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and a 64-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.46‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
