On Thursday, 24 August 2023, in the evening at 20:27, in Vilnius, on Geležinio Vilko street, at the junction with Savanorių pr., a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a car and an Audi A6 Avant registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of a car, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
