On Wednesday, 18 October 2023, in the evening at 17:23, in Vilnius, on Stepono Batoro street, at the junction with Dūmų street, a Skoda Fabia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Skoda (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.19‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
