On Tuesday, 31 October 2023, in the evening at 17:02, in Zarasų district municipality, on D. Bukonto street, at the junction with Sėlių a., in a roadworks zone, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Legacy and a MAN. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Subaru, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
