On Tuesday, 14 November 2023, in the evening at 18:20, in Molėtų district municipality, Kemetiškių village, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 64), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a KIA Motors Ceed and a BMW X5 3.0D. Two people were injured — the 59-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (treated as an outpatient) and the 44-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.42‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
