On Saturday, 18 November 2023, in the afternoon at 14:24, in Raseinių district municipality, on Algirdo street near No. 6, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Ford Focus. Three people were injured — a 30-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient), a 57-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 25-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
