On Monday, 18 December 2023, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 112), an Opel Vectra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
