On Saturday, 20 January 2024, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Panevėžio district municipality, Naujamiesčio town, on S. Nėries street, at the junction with Ragainės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 and a Mercedes-Benz. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober.
