On Friday, 19 January 2024, in the evening at around 20:00, in Telšių district municipality, on Saulėtekio street near No. 17, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Insignia and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
