On Sunday, 18 February 2024, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Plungės district municipality, on Žaltakalnio street near No. 10, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Scania, a HFR -, a Volvo FH 480 and a Schmitz SCS 24. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Scania (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
