On Sunday, 14 April 2024, in the afternoon at 15:44, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 88), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Nissan X-Trail, a Hyundai i 30, a Skoda Superb and a Toyota Corolla. One person was injured — the 46-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Nissan (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
