On Sunday, 26 May 2024, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 135.96), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Volvo V70. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 75-year-old driver of the Opel (37 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
