On Wednesday, 12 June 2024, in the afternoon at 13:46, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 99), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault, a Schmitz - and a DAF. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Renault (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
