On Sunday, 7 July 2024, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 100), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Honda CR-V and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Honda (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. The 33-year-old driver of a car had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
