On Wednesday, 24 July 2024, in the evening at around 17:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 18.06), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Ducato and a Ford Fusion. Three people were injured — a 74-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized), a 53-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient) and the 19-year-old driver of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Fiat (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
