On Saturday, 27 July 2024, in the morning at 8:23, in Plungės district municipality, on J. Tumo-Vaižganto street, at the junction with V. Mačernio street, a Mercedes-Benz ML 350 CDI 4MATIC registered in Germany hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 70-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
