On Wednesday, 7 August 2024, in the afternoon at 11:57, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Musninkai–Liukonėliai regional road (kilometre 14.16), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC90 and a Volvo V70. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Volvo XC90, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk (2.72‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
