On Thursday, 22 August 2024, in the evening at 22:25, in Prienų district municipality, on F. Martišiaus street near No. 76, at the junction with V. Mykolaičio-Putino street, a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Corsa and a Kawasaki. One person died — the 31-year-old driver of the Kawasaki (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Opel (27 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
