On Tuesday, 21 September 2021, in the afternoon at 14:39, in Prienų district municipality, on F. Martišiaus street, at the junction with Vytauto street, a Mazda 2 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 46-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 11-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Mazda (8 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
