On Thursday, 29 August 2024, in the afternoon at 15:50, in Vilnius, on Žygimantų street near No. 1, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V50 and a Skoda Fabia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
