On Thursday, 26 September 2024, in the afternoon at 13:40, in Raseinių district municipality, Kryžkalnio village, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 119), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Temsa, a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t and a DAF. Two people were injured — the 53-year-old driver of the DAF (treated as an outpatient) and a 80-year-old passenger of the Temsa (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Temsa (9 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
