On Sunday, 13 October 2024, in the evening at 17:16, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 35), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla Verso, a BMW 3ER Reihe, a Scania N 113 registered in Poland, a Ford Mondeo and a Schwarzmueller registered in Poland. Three people were injured — the 37-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient), the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 6-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Toyota (7 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
