On Thursday, 31 October 2024, in the afternoon at 15:45, in Kauno district municipality, on Rokų pl., at the junction with Vasario 16-osios street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318, a BMW and a Toyota Avensis. Three people were injured — the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized), the 62-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and a 24-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW 318 (6 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
