On Sunday, 3 November 2024, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 1), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D registered in Sweden and a Jeep. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
