On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, in the evening at 18:30, in Kaunas, on A. Juozapavičiaus pr., at the junction with Geležinkelio street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Trafic and a MAN. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (3.13‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
