On Sunday, 29 December 2024, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šiauliai, on Gegužių street near No. 33, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Peugeot 508. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 83-year-old driver of the Opel (43 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
