On Saturday, 1 March 2025, at night at 1:26, in Alytaus district municipality, Peršėkininkų village, on Dainavos street near No. 69, a BMW ran off the road. Two people died — a 25-year-old passenger of the BMW and a 44-year-old passenger of the BMW (was not wearing a seatbelt). One person was injured — the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
