On Thursday, 7 November 2013, in the evening at 17:28, in Vilnius, on Pylimo street, at the junction with Geležinkelio street, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 38-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.87‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
