On Saturday, 21 December 2013, in the evening at 17:29, in Vilnius, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with V. Kudirkos street, an Audi 80 Avant hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Audi (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.54‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
