On Monday, 5 October 2020, in the evening at around 21:00, in Vilnius, on Švitrigailos street, at the junction with J. Basanavičiaus street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC90 and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Volvo (10 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
