On Friday, 27 December 2013, in the morning at 10:25, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street near No. 150, a Fiat Punto hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 9-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 6-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Fiat (18 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
