On Saturday, 25 January 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 24), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.72‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
