On Tuesday, 11 March 2014, at night at 0:13, in Kaunas, on Karo Ligoninės street, at the junction with Kaunakiemio street, an Audi A8 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Audi (29 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
