On Monday, 24 March 2014, in the morning at 6:11, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 18.90), an Opel Astra rolled over. One person was injured — a 16-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
